Wood Siding Repair: How to Repair Cracks in Clapboard Siding: Part 2

Wood Siding Repair: The final steps to prevent future cracks involves a little trick from tile work and requires very few tools!  Let's pick up from the last video (Part 1) where we showed you how to securely nail it to make the base repair. Don't miss this last step!

The Caulk method to prevent cracking. 

The old clapboard siding on your Old House is often cracked at the edges from nails, age, aluminum siding installation, etc. Don't rip out this old growth wood just to replace with new wood, which won't last! Learn a few DIY steps to repair it... right here with My Old House Fix!

Tip: over the past 10 years I've found that the elastomeric caulk performs much better than glue over time. Glue cracks after a few seasonal cycles from natural wood expansion and contraction. Caulk stays flexible
