Located just 45 minutes north of Atlanta, in Tate, Georgia, and just off State Route 53 you'll find the beautiful Historic Tate House Mansion. Col. Sam Tate was the President of Georgia Marble Company and one of the largest open marble quarries in the world sits just behind the 27 acre estate.
Once that pink marble was discovered there (said to be more rare than diamonds), Sam wanted to showcase it throughout his home. Sam Tate began construction on the mansion in 1923. The home is 19K sq. ft featuring exquisite pink, black, and white marble, parquet floors, walnut doors and trim, and beautiful wallpaper. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the most photographed homes in Georgia.
The Historic Tate House Mansion is open to the public for private weddings and for the annual Christmas Open House. I hope you enjoy the tour! Please like, comment and subscribe if you enjoyed the video!
